Hi, I'm Aubrey!
My name is Aubrey Mahon and I own and operate Champion Tanning Lights. My business’ inspiration began when I was 8 years old and showed my very first pig through my local 4H Club. I have been head over heels about the show pig industry ever since.
My involvement in and out of the show ring has introduced me to lifelong friends and mentors, allowed me to travel the country and see new places, and has taught me countless valuable skills that I will rely on for the rest of my life. In the show industry, it is crucial to stay on top of the latest trends to maximize your success.
Lately, judges favor darker pigs with healthy skin and hair to increase the show appeal. Large scale show supply retailers first introduced tanning lights for swine that were essentially a smaller version of a human tanning bed. However, many of these companies’ lights were high dollar yet inefficient. I worked with a lighting specialist to design and build my own tanning light units and Champion Tanning Lights was born! Two years later I have built hundreds of tanning lights and shipped them all over the United States! Thank you for trusting us and taking us to the backdrop with you!

faqs & suggested use
What are the dimensions and specifications of the tanning unit?
Our unit is 4'x18" and has a 60-minute timer and regular 110 cord installed. It also comes with 6 tanning bulbs.
How long do the bulbs last and can I get more?
Our bulbs are rated for 10,000 hours. We do sell replacement bulbs.
How should I use this tanning unit to darken my pigs' skin?
Like humans, all pigs tan at a different rate. We recommend starting out at 20 minutes and working your way up to 55 minutes. Use once a day, 3-5 days a week, but for best results tan every day. Some pigs that are harder to tan, you can tan twice a day.
Should I use additional products on my pigs’ skin while under the tanning unit?
We recommend using Champions Choice Skin & Hair Conditioner or another oil-based product. Spray the oil on the pig's black or red pigment and brush it in. DO NOT spray the oil on the white part of their skin.
Should I use sunscreen?
Because our bulbs are extremely safe to use, sunscreen on the pig's white pigmented skin isn't needed.
